Tiffany & Co. has introduced a new fine and high jewellery collection centred on the Bird on a Rock, a design that traces back to a yellow cockatoo spotted by designer Jean Schlumberger during travels across Asia and the Caribbean. The motif became one of the luxury brand's most recognisable design signatures when Schlumberger introduced it in 1965. More than sixty years later, the house has returned to the same silhouette with a new collection.
The collection represents an expansion of the Bird on a Rock design into what the company describes as fresh territory. The new pieces interpret the bird motif in fine and high jewellery formats, building on the legacy Schlumberger established decades earlier.
