Giza province opened more than 20 markets on Thursday to sell school supplies and basic goods at discounted prices ahead of the new academic year. The markets, organized under an initiative called "Ahlan Madaris" (Welcome Schools), offer products at reduced prices, with some items discounted by up to 25 percent.

The markets are distributed across different towns and districts in the province to expand access to school supplies for families near their homes. The initiative aims to ease the financial burden on households and provide multiple product and price options.

One of the markets opened Thursday is located at Talbia in the King Faisal main street, occupying 1,800 square meters with 65 booths displaying school supplies and food items in one location. The supply ministry, the trade ministry, the general confederation of chambers of commerce, and provincial chambers of commerce organized the markets in coordination with companies and exhibitors.

The markets are part of preparations for the new school year and the government's effort to supply households with school materials and basic goods through organized sales points at reduced prices.
