Organizers of the European Triathlon Cup in Londonderry have barred a four-member Israeli delegation from competing in this weekend's event. The Northern Ireland Triathlon Club, which hosts the competition, cited opposition to what it described as the normalization of Israel's standing in global sport during the Palestinian crisis.
The multi-sport competition features sequential swimming, cycling, and running disciplines. The decision to exclude the Israeli team was announced before the weekend event.
