The UN Security Council committee responsible for ISIL and Al-Qaida sanctions amended two entries on its consolidated sanctions list on September 4, 2026.

The changes were made under resolutions governing the designation of individuals, groups and entities affiliated with ISIL, also known as Da'esh, and Al-Qaida. The committee acts under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, which authorizes enforcement measures.

Individuals and entities on the sanctions list are subject to an assets freeze, a travel ban and an arms embargo, according to Security Council resolution 2734 from 2024.
